    kubuntu on virtual box

I have installed kubuntu 8.10 on windows using virtual box.
I want to access the shared folders and I require the package dkms to be installed.

I did sudo apt-get install dkms

    but it couldn't find any.

so how to install the dkms package....................

And also previously I was using ubuntu and just switched to kubuntu
what is the difference between both

    Re: kubuntu on virtual box

I am not sure what you are asking here. What is and what do you need dkms for?
Did you get an error accessing the shared folder. Did you install the guest addons?
I have not run linux in a windows Vbox in a long time but you should be able to install the guest addons
    to have better support.

As to the difference between the to distors, Night and day. I was using Kubuntu but switched to Ubuntu.

Kubuntu has a great looks and feel, but was to buggey for me to keep using it. Some have had great success with it but not me.

The main difference is the GUI, KB uses KDE 4.1, and UB uses Gnome.
