Hi,
On my pc I run hardy 8.04 and have my sudoers file set so that do not have to enter my password when I run sudo apt-get <anything>. Here's the line in my sudoers file:
# This is for apt-get
<USERID> ALL= NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/apt-get
I omitted my userid but the line is as above. This works and is ok with me. It's what I want.
Now on my laptop with Ibex 8.10 I have the same setup but when I type sudo apt-get <anything> it prompts me for my password.
Any reason why sudo woudn't work the same on both systems? This is on Kubuntu on both machines.
OK.... I just tried something else and is making me a little more crazy... I just ssh'd over to my laptop and ran "sudo apt-get update" and it took right off without prompting me for a password. I then went to the laptop and opened a terminal window and typed in the same thing and it prompted me for a password?
This among many other little things will keep me on hardy..... So far my own opinion about Ibex is not good nor the direction its taking....
Thx
