I'm a new user to Kubuntu. Have just installed 8.10 on a laptop and I'm very impressed
so far - much better than Vista!
However I need help with a few problems:
#1 Firefox always offline.
Whenever I start firefox it is offline. I need to manually set it online from FILE menu every time
How can I change the default to online?
#2 System sounds do not play
Even though systems sounds are enabled (via system settings) and do play when tested there,
only the tune on logout plays. I want a sound to play for all KDE events. How to fix this?
#3 Midnight commander resets options on startup.
MC and MCEDIT work well, however I want to change some options. I can do this, but whenever
mc or mcedit restarts my options are reset with the default ones.
How to fix this?
Can provide more info on hardware, set-up, etc if required.
