your folder should be something like this
/video_ts
/video_ts/vts_01_0.vob
/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob
/video_ts/vts_01_2.vob
/video_ts/vts_01_x.vob

and replaced x with how ever many now if i am not mistaken you must split the video so that each file is no larger then 1GB (1048404kb) split them then rename them , and rename to the scheme above.. now try to burn them ... oh btw you can split those video files with avidemux as well..

Well, that is not how it is. Apparently I have done something wrong. I did follow your instructions.

How did you get the filenames "vts_*"?

How is that going to play out with the end result? The way you are describing it, I am going to have to split one video (one movie, i.e., The Phantom Menace) into two segments. It seems that I will have to burn these two separate segments and then when I want to play it, I will have two separate movies to play (one, actually, split up into two parts). Is that correct?

you can just rename the files accordingly,
it will automaticly start to play the next file
put a dvd in you comptuer and look at its video_ts folder you will see what i mean.

I put a video in the drive and looked at the video_ts folder, but there was a "movie.iso" file in there and that was it.

My /video_ts folder has six *.vob files in three folders. All files have the format:

00-The_Phantom_Menace(Part_X).vob

for example where you replace 00 with the number of the movie. The Phantom Menace would be the first one, so it would be "01". "X" would be replaced with either "1" or "2". I am getting the same errors as before. Do you have any other ideas please.

well from every video format disk i have ever burned (and there are quite a few) the files are named in the scheme i mentioned above. as well as being sized, also because you have no .ifo files you will get no menus/ or the ability to have chapters as i said in a eariler post i only know how to do that with non-free software.

yea im at my xp machine atm

This disk is properly formated to play in a console dvd player.

all of those files are on the phantom menace dvd. (a retail disk)

you will need to name your vob files to be the scheme you see in that output,
as i said above no larger then 1gb each file.
rename the 6 files to the vts_01_x.vob scheme and try to burn the disk. the resulting disk should play in console players. (ps2 is your best bet to play a burned dvd on mine has played everyone reguardless of +/- R or disk vendor)

I did what you said about the file renaming. There are six *.vob files in the project and no others. Each file is about a half gig. I got the same errors. What next, please?

well you could always try the auto menu in avidemux and select DVD, if that don't work let me know and i will make you a step by step walkthrough

ok Admiral, i lied aparently avidemux is a bad idea if this is your first convert , it makes the files but don't cut them and make it "EZ" so give me a few to look in to some other options in the mean time. you should try devede your problem with that is prolly due to the fact your trying to put 3 movies on a dvd(possibly incorrectly) try adding 1 file per title, if that don't work try making it w/ one file

as for the PAL or NTSC Question depending on where you live you are gonna want the one that matches your area (i.e i live in a NTSC area videos are played @ 29.95 FPS) go grab a 'Real' dvd that works in your player on the case (or disk) it should say if its PAL or NTSC use what you find there.... i will if you still have issues let me know, and i will c what i can do to help.

Ok, Sithlord,

The PAL/NTSC question is answered. Like you said, I checked on the back of one of my retail copies and it says "NTSC". Thanks for that. I will try your other suggestions in the meantime.

I regret to inform you that the approach that I just used did not work. I have The Phantom Menace divided up into two files, each about a half gig a piece. I burned those to an image. Then, with K3b, I tried to burn the image to my DVD disc. The capacity was 4.7 GB. The error thrown was that the capacity was exceeded.
