    openoffice3.0 installation problem

Hi guys , from an howto I tried to install OO3.0 by add the line "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu intrepid main" in the "sources.list" file and after installing by Adept_Manager.
During the installation I had got an fatal error on "Kmix".
The OO3 installed doesn't work of course, how can I get out of this situation ?? if possible I could recover OO4.2 now since it worked fine ??

    many thanks

    Re: openoffice3.0 installation problem

Ummm... KMix is the sound mixer/volume control application. How/why would that affect/be affected by trying to install OpenOffice?

You might want to open Adept, click on "Sources", click on "Edit Software Sources", and make sure all of the boxes under the "Kubuntu Software" tab are checked.

Also, you might want to consider going to the these pages:
    1.) http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfec...ubuntu-8.10-p2
    2.) http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfec...tu-8.04-lts-p2
(for the second one, remember to change each instance of "hardy" to "intrepid")

Finally, here's OpenOffice.org's own website for downloading the install packages:
    http://download.openoffice.org/other.html

For Kubuntu, select the Deb package corresponding to your language choice, download, and double-click...

    Hope this helps.
