    Problems with net connectivity

Guys recently i have installed Kubuntu 8.10 and i must say it rocks.....
    1) I am using a Broadband Net Connection where it is online always i just have to key in my User ID and pass at the ISP home page and i can access the other pages when last time i had connected to internet using pppoeconf for other type of connection
Recently i am unable to connect to anything..... Help me....
When i type pon dsl-provider it shows an error message that on 'dip' group users can access etc. etc.
Few days back it was working fine

2)Also i have experienced a strange thing when playing videos. The video freezes for a fraction of sec after some definate period of time...This same case happens with various players viz. KPlayer, VLC Player, MPlayer, Dragonplayer etc. and is pretty disturbing.Whats the problem.

I use Acer Aspire 5920 Laptop with 2.2C2D and Intel X3100 Video Card and Intel/Realtek Dolby Certified Sound Card...
    Thanx in advance....

    Question 1: K Menu > Applications > System > User Manager
    Enter your pwd.
    Click on your username.
    Click on the Groups tab.
Ensure that the dip group is checked.
    Click on OK.
    You'll have to perform a normal shutdown/reboot.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
