    SIGHUP every 3 hours

OK, i know this was asked several times, but the osts made no sense, so i guess i should ask. Why does kubuntu 8.10 break after 3 hours of being on and does SIGHUP? it logs in fine, and runs fine, but it keeps doing that.
what to do to solve it?

As a wild guess I'd say look at the scren saver settings, has the screen saver been set to request a password on exit?

If not I think you'll have to give more detail about what you mean by "break" and "Sighup".

after 3 hours or so, it sends sighup. everything on it stops running and the moniter doesnt show anything unless i press the power button, but that shuts it off of course.

What is SIGHUP? I've never seen 8.10 do SIGHUP here and it doesn't break either. You probably need to get rid of SIGHUP.

LOL... Sorry, he can't do that - sighup is a posix signal the programs are receiving to tell them to shutdown.

Did you install lmsensors or anything that might be tripping any kind of thermal alarm that's telling it to shut down? Does it run longer when started "cold" verses quickly re-powering on after one of these halts?
