Damn. You're a genius. It worked for me too. Die, Klipper, die...and the problem disappears. Heck, I don't even know what Klipper does, anyway. With it gone, everything I actually use still works fine.

Did a lot of cut and past in OO Calc, and nary a problem anywhere. It just works.

Sigh. Is someone going to report this? I don't really know how, and I'm extremely rushed. Could do it later, but probably not for about 10 days.

Klipper is KDE4's "clipboard" (i.e. the place KDE stores your copied files).
