amarok/kde 4 repos

    amarok/kde 4 repos

    Hi there.

    Iḿ new too ubuntu (kubuntu). I have stepped over from opensuse and having some troubles getting grips on the configuration systems.

    My current problem is adept(gui). I have added the following line to the third party repos list:
    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu intrepid main

    and want to install the latest kde 4 packages, including amarok. when i search for amarok(after refreshing the repos list), i only find the kde 3 package. whats up? is this package not in the above repo?

    Amarok 2, you mean? Its package name is amarok-kde4.

        did you enable recommended updates?

            Have you tried to see if
            Code:
            sudo apt-get update
            brings up any updates?

                did it put an 'update' icon in your system tray?

                I'm not really sure why you can't find it, and i'm not at home right now, but when I get there (5 hours or so), I will add the repository and try to do the upgrade...been meaning to do it anyway...hopefully then I can see if it works...

                  after adding the repo line `deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu intrepid main` no update icon was placed in my system tray, however after adding the experimental kde repo a update icon appeared, unfortunately still no amarok/kde4.

                    I had the same problem. I found that by just typing:

                    sudo apt-get install amarok-kde4

                    It found it and installed it even though it didn't show up in "Adept Manager"

                      mmm,.. thats a little weird

                      well it worked, but after installing through console it still does not appear in adept manager though.
