    Amarok 2 panels blank

    Hi guys,
I've been using the beta of Amarok 2 for several weeks with no problems. However, I installed the final when the release was announced on kubuntu.org and for some reason all the panels (collection, playlist, and the middle bit) have disappeared. See my attachment to see what I mean. I've tried reinstalling, purging and reinstalling, and even deleting the folder in ~/.kde/share/apps, but to no avail. Has anyone else seen this?

Load Amarok and then settings/configure amarok/collection and make sure it's pointing at the right place . Then select tools/update collection and you should be back in business.

Not exactly THAT, but crash with Sig 6:

I'll try it again after a week, in case they fix it.

Amarok 2 was updated today. Seems to work OK here.

        Top readings on a Dell 630m 1.8ghz Centrino w 2Gb RAM:
        CPU usage between 8-11% CPU
        3.8% Ram (pretty constant).

I had this problem for a long time - it lasted through several updates and reinstalls of amarok-nightly, and I finally gave up.

I have just now switched to using amarok-kde4 from the beta repo here (as The Liquidator notes, it was updated just today):

          Code:
          deb [url]http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu[/url] intrepid main
          Seems to work fine now.

It would also make sense to delete the amarok config files in .kde/share/config

I thought so too, but in fact it made no difference, don't know why. It obviously forced a rebuild of the collection, but had no effect on the blank pane issue.

It's definitely pointing at the right folder, but no joy.

That's where my version is from. Today's update didn't seem to help.

That fixed it! Didn't even need to rebuild the collection. Thanks, guys!

I had this problem too, but what I found out was that the left panel was covering the entire screen. One day I decided to move the screen from the right to the left and then the panels showed up. So basically take your mouse the far right edge and drag it to the left. Make sure you don't resize the entire app.

                  Hope this helps.
