      I wish that Firefox were already installed and that this sort of tweak were already in place. Given how popular FF is, it would be great if it looked good without this much effort. And why is there no Opera available for Kubuntu? That seems a little odd.

        no problem...and if you haven't already installed a new theme, I would do that also...

          I tried all those suggestions and I'd say that Firefox does look less ugly, but it still doesn't look good. It pales in comparison to how good it looks in Windows. I don't even remember it looking this ugly in PCLinuxOS, although I know it still didn't look great.
