    libdvdcss and 64-bit video codecs

Where do you get them or how do you get them in Intrepid?

    Only dvdread3 is shown.

Edit: I enabled the medibuntu repository but libdvdcss and win32codecs are nowhere to be found. Also, do I need 64-bit codecs if I installed the 64-bit version of Kubuntu?

    From the Medibuntu.

Did you update the apt package database ?

    There should be:

    package: non-free-codecs
This package depends on the binaries codecs package matching your architecture
    (w32codecs for i386, w64codecs for amd64 and ppc-codecs for powerpc systems).

    It can be safely removed.
It is a metapackage, it just installs other packages => w32codecs/w64codecs/ppc-codecs..

    and for you (amd64)

    package: w64codecs
This package contains the "Win32" codec binaries for the x86_64 architectures, required for the decompression of video formats that have no open source alternative.

This is in Medibuntu due to its non-free license
You can also download single packages from the Medibuntu. Download a package, right click it, install with the GDebi...
    Before you edit, BACKUP !
