KDE 4 print dialog displays after long delay

When I try printing from a KDE 4 application (Okular, KMail, Konqueror are the ones I tried) the print dialog takes a long time to show up while freezing the application. Once the dialog shows up I can select my print settings and then when I hit the print button it takes a long time again before it actually prints... again freezing my application until it's done.

I can print fine from KDE 3 (Kdevelop 3.5.3) and from non-kde applications (firefox, openoffice).

This happens no matter what printer I select, even if I attempt to print to the PDF printer.

The other printers I have installed are all network printers, two of them using HPLIP.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Sorry, I haven't seen this...I have 2 network printers, both working with no problems...it sounds like KDE is having a hard time locating the printers on the network though.
