thats funny cause my GF made me do the same thing, however i don't have ne thing that works on 8.10 that didn't work for 8.04.
Sound and a Canon inkjet printer in our case. Didn't work in 8.04.

        All good now.
Huh mine was a HP Deskjet 3740, and the Ati Xpress 1150 IGP Graphics Card in my Laptop. in 8.04 that didn't work?
But now my Printer works in 8.10 as long as I stay with the Stock Kernal 2.6.27-7-generic.

Now if I try to use it in the Newer Updated Kernal 2.6.27-9-generic, it'll run like it's printing, "BUT" no text or graphics? :P

But on the brightside it is quite an Ink Saver....

        I'm running Intrepid 32bit, When I tried the X64 that's a different story.
I didn't have sound, couldn't get 3D Acceleration, and my Printer never even grunted.

So I guess I'm getting closer.
I went to submit the Bug Reports but seen there was already a bunch, So I know they are aware of it.
