Konqueror as file browser have no media, bluetooth, printers,...

Hallo:

I've installed kubuntu 8.10. I install kubuntu instead of ubuntu because I like konqueror as file browser. But with Kubuntu 8.10 and kde4, many options of konqueror are not available.

Where the options of media, printers, bluetooh,... that were available on previous release? I prefer konqueror to dolphin....

I've notice a big difference from 8.10 to 8.04. Most importants are that things that worked before now not: My keyboard trust wireless has some multimedia keys not working, compiz-fusion doesn't work as thought (probably due to keyboard problems), ...

I like 8.04 with kde 3, but the problem is that it's not LTS.

Well, coming back to konqueror, where are that options that before where in services?

I agree..
You can't open a directory as root.
You have to search for program to see what devices and hardware you have.
Some of the programs will not load into the program application listing.
And why does either the kernel or Xorg not work with ati video cards

There are lots of problems with kde 4. we need the choice of 3 or 4 still in this version.......

Hey you guys, I'm a Konqueror-guy, too. Right now, it's got some issues.
But, for now, try opening Konqueror as root and working in it from that angle:
kdesudo konqueror

or, kate as root
kdesudo kate
then use File > Open menu to get files.

one thing there, is, in the main location window, type
/
then see media
and click that;
however, you will have to make sure the media you want to see like hard drives are set up in /etc/fstab
for mounting
(or mount them manually and watch them pop into /media);
