Recently, i've tried playing some mkv files using vlc media player in Intrepid, but i've discovered that the seeking doesn't seem to work properly and the video stops playing at about the 15 minute mark (it's like the player only reads the first 15 minutes of the track and thinks that it stops there). At first, i thought that the movie was corrupted, but i've already encountered this in three different files. I tried some other players also (SMplayer, MPlayer, Kaffeine - all installed using the add/remove feature), but either the video doesn't show at all or i have the same problem.
I'm guessing that the players don't decode correctly some markers embedded in the format.
Anyway, do you have any idea how to fix this - maybe i'm missing some codec packages?
