2 Features of Compiz available in KDE?

    Hi,

I've dipped my toe into Kubuntu occasionally, and I usually like it but there are always a few niggly things which make me resign back to Gnome. With the 4.2b release of KDE it seems that along with the list of bugfixes and a few nice features, I am considering going back down the KDE route fairly soon.

However, there are 2 functional features of compiz that I use regularly and was wondering if there was anything similar in the KDE environment.

    1) Scale - Moving mouse to corner and all windows shrink down and present themselves, when I click on one of them, it brings it into focus

    2) Show Desktop - assigned to a screen corner also (repeating the corner gesture undoes the show desktop and restores back to how it was)

Are these two available/possible in any current/future install of Kubuntu? or are there any KDE native installs which can provide this?

    Thanks in advance

Neon installs nest to your existing system and does not interfere.
Not, sure if it works with ubuntu (gnome)

At least with kubuntu II it has been very stable lately.

          thanks for the additional info

Don't care too much about integrating it with gnome as I'm trying to get away from Gnome asap. Willing to do a clean install anyway as I've been toying with a few distros lately just to get a feel of what's out there. KDE is going to be the way forward for me I hope

Well, it doesn't integrate with gnome. It installed to its own folders.

But you could get kubuntu intrepid and then install next to that.
You can then choose which version you want at login for testing.

Again it does not interfere with kubuntu either as it installs to its own folders and makes a .neon-kde folder in /home and does not touch the .kde (Interpid) folder.

            Enjoy
