    would like some reinstall input

I have backed up /home and all my important stuff.

    My questions are:

    1. Is there a way to do a repair install where it doesn't change the partitions?

    2. best way to backup and Restore the home directory?

This is about my 6th kubuntu resintall in about a month. Just trying to make this easier.

For a good thread on backup http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3094844.0

Yes. What do you want to repair? If you have /home on one partition and / on another partition,
plus swap, then you only need to, at the most reinstall /, leaving /home untouched.
You can also use the Kubuntu live CD as a rescue disk to mount your partitions and 'fix' problems,
    for example xorg.conf in Hardy
