Intrepid and widgets

Hello,
Is there anyone I can confirm that the widgets RSSNOW and NEWS operates under kubuntu 8.10
I tested Suse Live CD and these two works plasmoid but not in Kubuntu 8.10
Thank you kindly enlighten me
