Probably you are saying "desktop" for what you see on the screen, but in KDE 4 it is not = the contents of your /home/rusty/Desktop folder.

To see the contents of the /home/rusty/Desktop folder on your screen, you need to add the "Folder View" widget, and set it to show the contents of your Desktop folder.

Hi - thanx for info - i'll try it out - Rusty

I did try it out - but adding the Folder Widget has got no place to 'set it to show the contents of the desktop folder'. How do I do that? Rusty

        Rusty,

just click on the settings knob (appears when you move above the widget window - in case it is not locked - the little "screw-wrench" icon on one of the sides) of the new folder widget and a new window appears where you can change to the folder you want to get displayed. E.g.: /home/rusty/Desktop

        Cheers,
        Oliver
