Akregator crashes

since installing Kubuntu 8.10, Akregator just crashes on load. I'm also seeing similar flakiness on Xubuntu 8.10, although the last couple of Xubuntu updates seem to have stabilized it some there. Is anyone else having problems with Akregator in Kubuntu 8.10/KDE 4.x? Is there a better or more stable RSS reader to use?

I can't help with your problem, but I can let you know that Akregator works fine for me in 8.10.

Do you get any error messages if you launch Akregator from the command line?

i'll have to check, but first will have to learn how to launch app from command line (i'm such a noob).

ok, weird. launched by doing alt-f2 and typed akregator in. no crashes. does it just not like being launch from the desktop window icon i wonder?
