[SOLVED] Minimized windows disappear in Kubuntu 8.10?

I've been using Kubuntu 8.10 since beta and previous versions since 6.06

This morning while doing my usual updating with adept, reading and writing mail with thunderbird and checking the Kubuntu forums with firefox, I noticed that I could minimize thunderbird to see how adept was going and restore it but when I minimized firefox, it disappeared. I clicked on the taskbar icon and it opens firefox(2) - actually I wanted (1).

Any ideas to help much appreciated.

Add the widget called "Task Manager" and see if that helps...

Great! Just what I wanted. Many thanks. I have also recently discovered the alt-tab to cycle through windows but with the same three programs open it missed adept and cycled between firefox and thunderbird.

Now that the open windows are displayed on the task bar, it seems that I can choose whichever, which I think was the default in 8.04
