Project Neon presents Amarok-Nightly and KDE-Nightly

Try out the new Amarok Nightly: http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/User:Apac...r/Project_Neon
Try out KDE nightly (KDE4.2): http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/User:Apac...oject_Neon/KDE

    Re: Project Neon

I have been testing that with intrepid lately from here:
    http://roderick-greening.blogspot.com/2008/11/kde-nightly-neon-for-thrill-seeker-in_03.html

but get this when trying to upgrade the last few days:
Fehler traten auf beim Bearbeiten von:
    /var/cache/apt/archives/kde-nightly-kdebase_20081109.7+svn881961-0neon1_i386.deb
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
    I found this:
    http://launchpadlibrarian.net/195122...TOBUILD.txt.gz

    but that doesn't help much.

    Any ideas?

        Thank you for the response.

Well at least I am not alone

I tried again today with the same result.

          Re: Project Neon

Thanks for adding the announcement. I was about to do the same The steps to add it in Intrepid are very easy! Add this repository in Adept or Syntaptic:

          Code:
          deb [url]http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ubuntu[/url] intrepid main
Then refresh the sources in Adept/Synaptic, and add this package

          Code:
          kde-nightly
The nightly builds are installed in parallel to KDE 4.1, so nothing gets screwed. And a new .kde-nightly directory is used for the settings, so again, this is a free test drive with no risk :-)

LII: are you using the hardy, or the intrepid packages? Everything seems smooth in intrepid (or else I was lucky a day ago when I installed it all, including Amarok)

                  Re: Project Neon

Sorry, my bad, it turns out I didn't have the Amarok Nightly packages. When I tried to install them, it failed. I'll prolly upgrade all the neon packages next weekend and give Amarok-nightly a new shot. I'd love to see if it is already playing video files ...

Todays upgrade seems to have been extensive.

Lancelot is back, but where has msn in Kopete gone to?

It is still there in kopete on II

Will those packages work on 64bit?

I still can't get Lancelot to show up in the add widgets box...did you do anything special to get it to work (I have a .deb). Did you compile it from source, and if so, is there anything special (paths, etc)?

                        thanks!
