Extended desktop on Intrepid with KDE?

Hi Forum,

I seem to have a problem getting my extended desktop working under Intrepid KDE-4. When I attempt to use the Urandr GUI to do the job it simply logs me out and (I suspect) restarts the x-server. Attempting to use the display settings under System Settings -> Display also does not work as it seems to put both the VGA and the LVDS on both screens??

Did anybody get this running yet, and if so, could you please post how

Btw - apart from this Intrepid worked more or less 'out of the box' for me - guess I've just been lucky

Neither grandr or krandr worked for me either. Had to place a Virtual line in xorg.conf to account for the larger virtual desktop and then use either xrandr CL to force the configuration or add the appropriate stanzas to xorg.conf.

Google xrandr 1.2 and you'll find some good info in the first few hits.
