    Have you 'tested' the theory?

    Open a terminal window
    Code:
    sudo killall pulseaudio
    sudo pulseaudio &
    Then just close the terminal window. Start Amarok and see if sound works properly.
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      Yes, I have. After the first command I get pulseaudio: no process killed.
