I see it in Adept, though I didn't try to install it. It looks current, as well.

Yep, I see it also. If you have not already done so, you just might want to download/install Synaptic package manager. It is SO much better compared to the less than friendly "new and improved" Adept Manager provided in Intrepid. :P

I was just about to comment about my dislike of the new adept interface.

I guess I will try synaptic, that is what i was going to compare it to :P

Although I think Synaptic is lame as well. I do wish more progress was being made on the new Adept. It has potential.

Really? Given that it has far less than it's immediate predecessor in KDE 3.5.10, I'm not so sure. I'd hardly call the current incarnation of Adept Manger a step forward.

              Agreed about current adept snowhog.

found kweather in synaptic, reinstalled it. still not in the menu. will have to fire up kmenu editor.

You might just have to restart KDE - Ctrl+Alt+BkSp

I think kweather is an applet, not a program. Try adding it as a widget.

I think Adept has potential in that it is much cleaner than the old Adept, which had weird options all over the place. But the usability of the current Adept is way under par, I agree.

                    Weather plasmoids

                    plasmoid-weather (from the official repositories)
This is a simple plasmoid that displays the current weather. It uses zipcodes
for configuration as well as location IDs from http://weather.yahoo.com

plasmoid-weatherforecast (from the PPA repositories (1))
                    A weather plasmoid that will:

                    1. Forecast for next 2 days
                    2. Icon support for the next 2 days
                    3. High & low temperature

                    location IDs from http://weather.yahoo.com
plasmoid-weather-smhi (from the PPA repositories (1))
a weather plasmoid showing 5-days forecast

Plasmoid showing 5-days forecast with data from SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute. Is of course most suited for swedish users…

I disagree, it does have potential..... lots of it.

                      potential

adjective having the capacity to develop into something in the future.

Okay, got to give you that. Because there is so much that can/should/needs to be improved upon, Adept Manager does have a lot of potential.
