the first issue has to do with the monitor resolution seems to be stuck at 1152x864 i think, when it should be 1280x1024. first the default installation wouldnt even go higher than 1024x768, then after installing the nvidia-177 driver, no matter how much fiddling (through the nvidia control or manual editing the xorg.config) the max is still 1152x864.
the second issue is more of missing modules in system settings that i know i've seen in kubuntu before, im coming from a previous mandriva installation, this are items that are needed but i didn't see them there. one is the module to configure system services or daemons, the other is a partition mount/editor module.
the third issue is konqueror and epiphany not playing video (apple.com/trailers) even though libxine, xine-mozilla plugin are installed (i am able to play divx movies locally so is not a missing codecs issue), i could prolly fix this by installing the mozilla-totem package but i would like to do with as few gtk stuff as possible.
fourth is more of tips on things like how to replace openoffice 2 with 3, is there something like kpowersave for kde4 or do i have to use the kde3 version?.
i think those are the big issues for now, appreciate any help, tips, directions to solutions, thx...
