[SOLVED] Open as root in Dolphin / Konqueror

In Ubuntu 8.04 Dolphin had the option to open a folder or file as root.

In 8.10 this optioned seems to be no longer there.

How can I do this, using either Dolphin or Konqueror?

I can't find a way to open directories as root other than kdesudo konqueror or dolphin, and i can't find a way to add it to the options, either.

aged hippy, you will want to enable Rog131's repo (as outlined by Fintan for the cashew ), do a

sudo apt-get update

followed by a

sudo apt-get install servicemenu-rootactions

for me apt-get says couldnt find any such application, even after update. tried the same in adept too.

can u help me out here ?

It tells how to add this right-click service manually and it also hints at how you can add many other neat right-click options to Dolphin.
