    system administration program

    Hi,

I am new to kubuntu. I am just trying out an installation made from live cd.

Is there any system administration program like YaST from where I can manage everything ?

The system settings program somehow seems to lack some configuration programs.

    Thanks a lot

    Welcome to the party

Yast is indeed very powerfull. And also a very slow package manager.

System Settings for kde4 is just being completed and probably won't be complete until kde4.2 or kde4.3

Depending on what you have to set / configure system settings is usefull enough.

For other settings this form is a treasure trove.

For package management I use synaptic. Very fast.

The Adept package manager is pretty good but I guess it is a matter of preference.

You can install it from a terminal with:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install synaptic
    Hope this gets you started

Vow, I have used synaptic in PCLinuxOS (my previous distro), but after installing it in kubuntu, its a world of difference in comparison with adept. Especially in proxy and authentication areas !
