    Kde and language problems

    Hello,

    I've trid to have the login screen in Finnish, but I want to have my own account in English. I couldn't done it with KDE4 (worked with 3.5). I tried to put all in English, but there is still some Finnish left, like Evolution and Adept are in Finnish.

    Is it possible to make KDE4 work with two languages or how to put just English back?

    /etc/enviroment looks:
    Code:
    PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games"
    LANGUAGE="en_US:en"
    LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
    thanks, amppa

    Re: Kde and language problems

    I got Evolution from Finnish back to English:
    KMenu->System Settings->Regional & Language->Spell Checker->Default Language

    Adept can be changed from its own menu:
    Help->Switch Application Language

      I have somewhat similar problem.

      Default language is English USA in both
      KMenu->System Settings->Regional & Language->Spell Checker->Default Language
      and
      KMenu->System Settings->Regional & Language->Country/Region & Language/Set System Language

      I have installed Bulgarian to use keyboard layouts and spell check.

      However, Dolphin would show some Bulgarian every now and then (most is in English), when I point at a folder it gives the Bulgarian word for folder. I speak both languages so it is not a big deal, but it get worse. If I follow Keyboard Layouts -> Advanced, then I have everything mixed 60% Bulgarian 40% English and it ugly and almost unreadable (I have to think hard to figure out the mix).

      If I knew how to take screen-shot I would have posted one.

      (I should probably note Kubuntu 8.10 32-bit)
