Keyboard shortcuts

Hi,

I'm using Kubuntu 8.10 and I have some problems with keyboard shortcuts :

1) Is there a way to configure keyboard shortcuts to run programs ? "Input Actions" does not seem to work.

2) Multimedia keys on my keyboard don't work fine with Amarok (except the Play/pause one) : the Amarok window has to be active for them to work.

Yep, this is another software issue I've discovered with the update to Kubuntu 8.10 from 8.04: I can't get the Hot Keys interface to work at all. I used to have a keyboard short cut to pop up an xterm if I typed Alt+Ctrl+T since I use xterms so frequently as ephemeral objects. But nothing I do will make this work. And, as I've struggled to get the already existing Run Konsole action working (System Settings -> Advanced -> Input Actions -> Examples -> Run Konsole) I've ended up with more and more dysfunctional copies of that in the khotkeys table (System Settings -> General -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> KDE component = khotkeys).
