CD to MP3 doesn't work (K3B and audiocd:/ in dolphin)

    Hi all

I have a problem with CD ripping to MP3 (ogg works fine). lame standalone works fine, but in K3B it doesn't work. When I try with dolphin lame works (See this with ps -ef | grep lame), but the outputfile is only noise . I get crazy about this ripping MP3 thing.

    TIA

Same here, k3b CD Ripping was working fine in 8.04 and now it's gone in 8.10 (I upgraded). K3b is set to use Lame ... I see the tracks, but when starting to rip I get an error almost right away. Vlc plays the CD just fine. Any pointers?

    Thanks!

Forgot to add: lame is installed, as well as the extracodecs for k3b

      Many thanks for any help!

        More news:

The default Ubuntu app (Sound Juicer) worked just dandy (after installing the gstreamer-plugins-ugly* packages), I find it a pleasure to use.

I can also reproduce the white noise mp3's produced with dolphin::audiocd:/

        Oh well !

I had that too, this worked for me:

          https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...3b/+bug/297320

The settings mentioned at the end are available once you have the window open just before ripping starts, click on the 'Configure Plugin' icon next to where you select the filetype, then select 'Mp3 (Lame' then 'Edit'.

Thanks for the pointer! This only fixes the issue in k3b though, not in Dolphin!
