Re: which widgets / plasmoids (incl. instructions)

I forgot this is Intrepid, i haven't tried it on the 4.x desktop yet....

It's early in the morning.... i'll try to wake up in a little while's time.

Well I have my desktop looking good.

This is a photo of my desktop with Lancelot, avant window manager or AWN running at the bottom.

I have no clue if avant in gnome or some thing else but it works and it works great for me. Simple to install and even easier to run now that you don't need compiz to run it.

And very nice it is, too! I also like having my main taskbar up top (even though I never used a mac), although I've split mine into five different ones (from left to right: #1 lancelot - #2 show desktop, plasma dashboard, konqueror applet - #3 quickstarter home, quickstarter other folder, automounter - #4 clock - #5 systray and trash)

down the bottom I have my task manager and in the left a quick-launcher as yet unconfigured...

Those are two neat-looking desktops, i'm impressed.

I'll hop across to Intrepid and take one of mine.... but it won't be like either of yours.

Very neat! That is KDE3 I take it. So how do you access stuff (getting wildly off topic here...).

                No, that's the Intrepid desktop.

                ... Norfolk ...i'm from Suffolk !

The photo is one i got from the internet somewhere, it's simply named "Alben", no idea where it is though.

I wish Suffolk looked like that.

To access the stuff, i use something called a Menu by clicking on the arrow at the top left corner.

Oh. Yes, I spotted ye oldie kidney in the corner

So, pray tell, how on earth did you get it looking like that? I am keen on a quick howto or something like that.

Best is, of course, to use KDE4's in-built video function!!! That would be truly groovy!

                      Even further off-topic Hardy's desktop: http://www.agedhippy.plus.com/images/hardy.jpg

At the bottom that's an auto-hiding panel with handy stuff on it.

                        When running:
                        Code:
                        sudo apt-get install libkonq5-dev libkonq5 cmake libplasma-dev kdelibs5-dev g++ kdebase-dev
                        I get the following error:
