Have just stated using Lancelot, it is absolutely marvellous. Has anybody else tried it?

Never heard of it till now, very nice. Dont get the whole hover instead of click, but the layout and ease of use is very attactic, big fat K is now a grail cup!
I think it would be really really nice if you had a touch screen.
        Thanks:<br />Using a Toshiba A300-21H ,3GB ram,Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz,Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD,intel wifi link 5100. Tux wants you!

You can set it to click or hover, I prefer the latter.

I find it much easier to navigate than kickoff, and much better from a "doing stuff" perspective.
It renders slightly slower than kickoff, and I'd like to have it launch anywhere I want on the desktop; but I don't see any reason why this shouldn't replace kickoff as the default.

It is available as a widget so you place wherever you want, I have chosen to place it on the panel.

Some thoughts from the developer, surprisingly he is against making it the default menu.

Yah, I like it a lot, good to see it in std repos. But I think it should also be preinstalled as well.

Having said that I don't use it a lot - once I get favourites setup with my (few) common apps I don't navigate the menus much.

I find it useful also, seems to work well in the panel so it stays!

Got it last night - looks nice. Definitely worth sticking on the panel.
