    Kooka gone??

I wanted to get kooka up and running today. It no longer in the repos and this:
    does'nt help much:
    https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepi...3.5.9-0ubuntu1

gdebi gives a "wrong format" error

I don't like the Sane gui much but will probably end up having to use it

    Is kooka going kde4??

    anyone have an idea?

Bummer -- I sometimes need to scan too, and always found Kooka very helpful.

Kooka was dropped from the kdegraphics module for KDE 4. The reason for this is the lack of active development and maintenance for long time.

However, there have been discussions around that, for example around this dot.kde.org story. It was somebody speaking up interested in carrying on Kooka development. If you are a friend of Kooka, cross fingers, might be that development continues.

If you are willing to help, please drop a note!

      in the meanwhile:

Here using packages from the hardy-backports:

      kooka_3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy1_i386.deb
      libkscan1_3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy1_i386.deb

      after this > K > Graphics > Kooka...

      Seems to work

        Why don't use sanewidget? It's a Qt4 frontend.

is now skanlite - KDE 4 image scanning application. It is in the repositories.

          Trying - well, why not
