I have nepomuk processes running but no strigi processes. I am under the impression that they work together. Long ago, in 7.10 or so, I turned strigi off, and I don't think it has been re-enabled since then. I'd like to turn it back on if that is the recommended thing to do. Any advice?

Re: Should strigi be running?
You can google strigi and learn about its alleged virtues. Personally, I know where my stuff is on my 5 hard drives -- I don't feel the need for such an "assistant".
Also, when it first attempts to "index" your hard drive(s), it will suck up resources like crazy, so you need to walk away while that is going on.....
