Upgrading to 8.10, not accepting password logging in

This is my first post on this forum, and alas i do have a problem!

Since im kinda new to linux, but wanted to get the 4.1.2 KDE upgrade, so upgraded to 8.10. Getting the login screen and all that, but my password is long, 14 characters and the login/password field in KDE does only accept 9 characters . Logging in to X or what ever it is called, my password gets accepted, but not able to logg in in kde, keeps asking for password. So since im NEW to linux i wonderd if its a way to fix this, or reset my password so im able to logg in to my fresh OS.

    Best Regards

    UPDATE:

Did find out how to change my password, to a 6 letter code/word. But it was still a no go for logging in. Still kept returning to enter password screen in KDE.

    Hi,

    I had this problem,

actually all you have to do is to click on session at the bottom of the login screen and choose KDE.

you should be able to login.

    regards
