How to enable desktop like kde 3.xx??

Hello,

Iike to use my desktop as a quick access area.
I dont like to have a window like desktop stay on my real desktop.
I heard that open suse comes desktop enabled?

Does any one know the way to use desktop like our classic desktop??

I think (though not absolutely sure) KDE 4.2 has 'full screen' folderviews (Suse might have backported the feature to their KDE 4.1 release).

However, you should be able to use current folderview applets in a similar way to the 'old' desktop concept (with the added bonus to showing several folders instead of the just one Desktop view...you could add, for example, folderviews for Downloads, URLs, Documents etc. to keep yourself organized).

If you don't like the visual look of folderviews, you could try a plasma theme that has transparent folderviews: Arezzo, Glassified and Glaze come to mind.
