SOLVED - Trap Divide Error in multiple applications

Update#2 After changing the style using the QT4 tool and rebooting the laptop, everything seems to be back to normal. WEIRD.

UPDATE: Changed styles using QT4 gui tool but I'm still having this same crash, still seems to be pointing to libbespin.so. I've got NO idea how to fix this, but the problem is nearly crippling. Please help!

    Original message:
I'm running Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Alpha 6 and have a trap divide error that's occurring intermittently, killing whatever window it is I'm working in. I'm going to say it's related to the Bespin style, as indicated by libbespin.so.

I'd change styles, but every time I open systemsettings I get the error and the window closes before I can even get to the styles applet. I don't know how to change my style via command line, so I can't even test to verify.

    Here's the error:

    2008-09-30 18:32:02 Valis kernel [ 5909.280578] kopete[9550] trap divide error ip:7f33c63525c4 sp:7fffdaa77100 error:0 in libbespin.so[7f33c6301000+65000]
    2008-09-30 18:36:59 Valis kernel [ 6206.676636] systemsettings[14762] trap divide error ip:7ff4e58a95c4 sp:7ffff669f420 error:0 in libbespin.so[7ff4e5858000+65000]

    uname -r returns:
    2.6.27-4-generic

Running an Intel Core2 duo, 64bit Kubuntu installation. Nvidia 8700 GT with the 177 driver installed using Jockey.

If there's anything else I can supply to help diagnose, you may have to explain how to gather it.

I've got to also drop some kudos to the forum. I still use and support Windows at work, but to expand my knowledge I decided to switch to Linux in December of last year for my personal computing. I bought myself a new laptop without an OS and installed Kubuntu Gutsy from a LiveCD. I did throw Vista on a tertiary partition so I wasn't paralyzed completely if I broke something, but I haven't had a day go by that I used it for more than an hour or two at a time.

I hadn't used Linux at all before that other than a failed attempt to load Mandrake from the premier issue of Maximum Linux magazine's included cd. Because of this forum and the beauty and usability of KDE itself, I decided on Kubuntu. I've never been happier with the state of computing, and this comes from a 10-month user running 8.10 Alpha. Since 1995 I've done various types of support, administration, hardware lab and bench tech work as well as a 6 year stint specializing in disaster-recovery, availability and business continuity, but it's always been Windows-based. I decided that I need to learn Linux for professional reasons and just to give myself more options. I'm really glad I made the jump. And I have to thank the denizens of this forum because otherwise I'd be using that stupid Vista installation a lot more frequently.

    So thanks guys!
