    8.10 a4

Really is a alfa4, but far behind 8.04 a4 in development. Going without any kde3 apps is interesting but not very functional. Kde4 integration is lagging Suse by a bunch. Still not using avail. funtionality of firefox, wherz moonlight & move media plugins? Pushing konq a good idea when the world is going firefox?

My 8.10 install has 3.5.9 apps like K3B and Amarok. Install more with Synaptic, a Gnome app.

Guess their a few 3.5.9 apps. Missing digikam that wont install in 8.10. Can you drag an drop your apps shortcuts to the desktop?

Of course not -- 8.10 has KDE 4.1, silly rabbit! The only "desktop" you have, if any, is the desktop widget. You can drag and drop on that.

Twas inquiring as the drag n drop from menu to desktop of app shortcut. Kubuntu allows the drag n drop of only kde apps while Suse allows dragndrop of any app installed in the menu. i.e kubuntu konq. will drag n drop from menu to desktop but firefox will not?

From my experience only KDE4 apps work from the desktop, & non KDE apps in the favorites area doesn't display application icon.

I have the KDE 4.1 "Desktop Widget" which is installed by default on Intrepid. I just now dropped my GoogleEarth and Firefox 3 icons on it, and then deleted them. It works as expected here.

I have Digikam installed in 8.10 with no problems. I used Synaptic to install it.

Unable to dnd non-kde icons here. dropped konq onto the desktop widget no prob, but ff doesn't. I get a cricle bar saying it can't go.
