Lost Start Menu after changing to KDE3 style

Hi,

After I changed to the KDE3 menue behavior (right click on start button) it doesn't show the start button nor the menue after a restart.

This happens also in 8.04 KDE4.

Can somebody confirm this?

Testing with the KDE 4.1 RC1; Intrepid Ibex alpha-2 (last upgrade 23-7):

- Backup .kde directory
- Switch to Classic Menu Style
- Restart

=> here everything is OK.

Ok, I'm going crazy.

I downloaded the 8.10 Alpha3 version and installed it right away into my virtualbox. Changed to classic menu. Did a dist-upgrade in the terminal (70 updates) (the GUI updater doesn't work). Did a restart and the icon for the start menu is gone.



Shall I capture the whole process on a screencast?
