I've waited, and it hasn't fixed itself yet

When I installed 8.10 beta wireless it worked 'right out of the box' so to speak, but after an update it no longer worked.

I have an Intel 5300 agn that shows up as
    Code:
    *-network DISABLED
            description: Wireless interface
product: PRO/Wireless 5300 AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection
            vendor: Intel Corporation
            physical id: 0
            bus info: pci@0000:06:00.0
            logical name: wmaster0
            version: 00
            serial: 00:16:ea:6f:48:cc
            width: 64 bits
            clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress cap_list logical ethernet physic
    al wireless
            configuration: broadcast=yes driver=iwlagn latency=0 module=iwla
    gn multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11abgn
neither wifi-radar or knetworkmanager wants to work and say network is down.

    umm, help please.

If I didn't give enough information could you please tell me what to do? I've checked on the other threads and they don't seem to either be aimed towards what seems like my problem and I've tried some of the other solutions and they didn't work.

So, should I simply wait and see and hope it resolves itself or...I don't know, curse until I'm blue from lack of oxygen and fantasize that my wireless is working? Because I'm not really into the second option...

I don't have wireless but if you could change the subject of your post to something more pertinent like:
wireless card Intel 5300 agn and knetworkmanager not working
I am sure you will get more responses form those that are knowledgeable about wireless

Sorry I can't be of more help

Given all the stuff that we don't know about the beta that you installed, and the updates since then, and since you can't possibly have accumulated much new data in the meanwhile, I'm going to propose an very un-Linux-like approach. Why don't you just make a new Live CD from the latest daily build here:

        http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/

Boot it and let's see if it works "out of the box". If it does, the easiest thing is probably to install it fresh.

        Whaddaya think?

Actually that would be my most atypical Linux experience, I can't count how many times I've simply wiped and reinstalled...and I say that like it's a proud thing...

          ok, let's see what happens.
