I'm trying to install Kubuntu 8.10, but I am running into an problem.. when I get to the section to select / set up partitions the GUI does not list my partitions. BUT, I can browse all my partitions without difficulty in Dolphin and I can boot into them fine with my existing PCLOS / Grub install.
I'm not afraid of the command line, so if there is a way to force the install from konsole let me know.. My swap partition is on /dev/sda7 and the partition I would like to use for Kubuntu is /dev/sda8 (home & / ); time zone is Pacific (GMT -8hrs) & US keyboard.
I did boot the "liveCD" using the so called "poor man's" method by copying the contents of the CD to a small partition and then set up my menu.lst to see it. Booting it was fine, no problems. So far, I am impressed by the liveCD/ISO, but I would like to install it and put it to some real use!
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you.
