Hi guys, after couple month of not using ubuntu 8.04 I installed new 8.10 on new HDD. So kubuntu is running but it has some disabilities, which I need to correct.
First of all, the graphics is not working properly. Video is not played smoothly in vlc. google earth blinks too. I have google gadgets installed and before they appear I see random pixels with those gadgets shape. (When they are loaded they are fine.) When I click Kmenu, I see random pixels in instead of menu for 0.5sec. Clicking the menu for the second time is fine.
I have Asus EAH2400 graphic card with closed drivers.
My second problem is desktop. When I installed kubuntu there was Desktop widget enabled and I still use it. The icons are autoarranged by name and when I create an icon, it is sorted automaticaly. When I click right-click there is nothing about arranging in Properties. Also I would like to change the grid on the desktop. Its like the widget "Folder view" displays files from folder "Desktop", but does not behave like desktop.
