If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
Kubicle's link looks good -- did you do those things?
Have you selected the "Recovery Mode" login, from the boot menu? Try that, and on the screen that comes up, choose the "Fix X" option from the menu. That may help your window issues.
Hey, thanks! I had exactly the same problem. I think it was installing the kde-window-manager that fixed the problem. Next time I'll make major upgrades on a backup.
I also update the NVIDIA drivers but got a kind of error: everytime, I have to add the option "DPI" " 107x107" in the xorg.conf file...anyway, I'm happy that I'm running with KDE4.2, which seems faster...
