Help! KDE 4.2 install didn't work. Running Gnome now.

I tried to follow all the instructions, I removed all my widgets, added the experimental repository, then did a dist-upgrade from konsole. When it got to the end, it said the install wasn't successful. I wasn't able to copy the exact error message, but I did capture everything from konsole to a text file. See attached.

I clicked on the box to send the info to the developers, and that didn't work. It said I didn't have a valid Ubuntu installed.

Now when I try to login, it says KDE 4.1, and after a few seconds, I go right back to the login again. I tried like 4 times. Finally I chose Gnome and here I am.

See attached text file for a record of my install.

the update screwed up for me too, just open konsole or log into the terminal and type:

    sudo apt-get -f install

That fixed it, thanks much. Up and running 4.2...

        This happened to me.

I chose recovery mode in the GRUB boot menu.

Then I chose the DPKG option in the next menu.

Then I said Y to everything it asked me.

When it was done I rebooted and everything was fine and I had KDE 4.2!
