When I login to my account, it says that it logs on without administrative privileges, can i fix this?

When you log out do you leave any apps open? e.g. Synaptic
When you do this and log on it will go back to Synaptic (say) and "log on (to Synaptic) without administrative privileges. " This can be cured by closing Synaptic and opening it anew."A problem well stated is a problem half solved." --Charles F. Kettering
