KDE random restarts

Hey,

I'm having an issue with KDE in 8.10. Sometimes KDE restarts (just like hitting ctrl-alt-backspace). Before the login screen comes back up, I can briefly see something about it checking battery state in the console. I'm running on an old Toshiba laptop.

Does anyone have any ideas? Tell me which logs to post, I can't really see anything helpful in kdm.log or xorg.0.log.

Looks like a little bit of a bug that's been filed here:

No crashes yet after disabling Desktop Effects. At least Intrepid is usable now!
