problem with advanced customizing Kubuntu-desktop

I used the advanced desktop setting and chose some features for activating and inactivating windows. One of them was to blank all inactive screens, amongst others.
After applying this, I can't see anything, the screen remains black. I can't see what I'm doing.
How can I reset the default desktop settings? Can I reinstall the desktop with the terminal (which can be started with "safe mode" startup. I wouldn't like to have to reinstall Kubuntu as I downloaded and installed some large applications.

Did you check any of the areas that offered translucency or similar

You want to search the forum for "blank KDE screen" or some such subject. This has happened to tons of people before and is easily remedied
