Installation stops!!!!

First I would like to tell my comp configuration

AMD 64 x2 4000
1 gb ram
160 gb hd

kubuntu installation stops at 82%..Message shown by it will be -scanning mirror..but installation doesnt proceed..How can I install??

I didnt download the image..I requested the cd and it was sent to me...So no burning problem as mentioned in the thread ...

Where are you located? Sometimes you need to manually fiddle with the source mirrors to get a connection to the repositories. It's very important during the initial setup, although once your system is set up, you don't really have to update it ever, if the user can live with the packages that were originally installed.
